There is no meta strategy to this, no Machiavellian plan. It was simply two opportunities to get involved in two disparate film series that are bigger than all of us. I don’t feel any kind of Coke vs. Pepsi thing about it. It seems there is enough bandwidth for both of these very different stories to coexist. I feel incredibly lucky to be involved in either of them
One of my favourite cosplays of, like, EVER.
SUPER HOT FEMME!KHAN
She even had a clear lunchbox type thing with the creepy seti-eels in.
PS - I saw her again today, and she let me NAME the eels.
i want to build a shrine to this woman
New stuff from Her Universe for Black Friday 2013! Available Nov. 29th on HerUniverse.com.
I drafted the following ridiculous list of tags:
#I know this is #adorable #but I think I might be overreacting #because I don’t even know who the fiercest person in this picture is #and yet I am experiencing near-lethal happiness levels #who is this woman?! #I love her #mystery badass in a (p)leather skirt
…before I learned that she’s Joan Winston, organizer of the first Trek conventions. According to Wikipedia, she “was able to secure Roddenberry’s attendance at the first convention, and she also arranged for tapes of 15 episodes, a blooper reel, and a truck of space memorabilia from NASA.”
"A TRUCK OF SPACE MEMORABILIA"
THAT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PHRASE I’VE EVER HEARD
She seems so awesome and I am in love with her for being a badass sci-fi lady and also just really happy for her that after all that work she got to have a) this experience and b) a photograph of it. (And also c) A TRUCK OF SPACE MEMORABILIA)
Again, sneering fanboys - look how women were RUNNING THE FANDOM SHOW way before you were a sperm-heading-toward-an-egg.
Joan Winston! I read her book! I loved her book. This picture makes me incredibly happy.
