Star Wars out this week: Fate of the Jedi: Ascension in paperback and Dawn of the Jedi: The Prisoner of Bogan #1. Both should be in stores now.
The Expanded Universe in 2013
It’s true. Announced at SDCC earlier this evening. (Well, Last of the Jedi we’ve known about for a while - it’s a sequel to the Coruscant Nights trilogy, but the cover is new.)
Crucible is a standalone set after Fate of the Jedi, and it focuses on Luke, Han, Leia and Lando.
There’s also going to be a Dawn of the Jedi novel by a brand-new EU author, Tim Lebbon.
All these are due out in the spring, and we’ll hear about more upcoming books at Celebration in August.
Luke and Ben Skywalker alongside Sith of the Lost Tribe face off against the force entity, Abeloth.
It’s been a slow couple of weeks in the fandom, as far as news goes. Because, naturally, everyone decided to save their announcements for today and exhaust all the poor fansiters. Or, well because of the whole May the 4th thing. Anyway, here’s what was up today:
StarWars.com releases an entire chapter of Zahn’s Scoundrels. Yes, an entire chapter! Also, a look at Darth Maul: Death Sentence, Darth Vader & Son wallpapers, and Fate of the Jedi authors on the series.
Her Universe’s new gear launched on Hot Topic. I’m too old for Hot Topic and I was never that cool (well ‘cool’ for the suburbs) even as a teen, but having their stuff in such a large chain means nothing but good for the company. So buy!
StarWars.com had a very brief Clone Wars S5 teaser. Very brief.
USA Today had the exclusive on a Lost Tribe of the Sith comic. I guess the stories were popular?
A vocal cover of the Star Wars theme. Really, you can’t have Star Wars day without someone breaking out the John Williams.
And last but by no means least… Carrie Fisher is coming to Celebration VI! She’s not the only one announced today, but she is without question the headliner. At least thus far.
Phew. - Dunc
